Algebraic surfaces of the 2nd degree – Quadric surfaces
Algebraic surface of the 2nd order has class equal to 2 - it is a surface of
the 2nd degree and it is given by a 2nd degree algebraic equation \( F^2(x,y,z)=0\)
. Such surfaces are called the quadrics. (Wikipedia: Quadrics)
There are 5 types of quadrics:
ELLIPSOIDS
HYPERBOLOIDS
PARABOLOIDS
CONES
CYLINDERS
